Privacy Policy

BEACON AI ("we", "our", "us") operates the platform at usebeacon.in. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. By using BEACON AI, you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name and email from Google.

Audit data: When you run an audit, we store the brand name, domain, industry, and the resulting AI Visibility Report in our database. This data is associated with your account and retained to power your audit history and drift detection.

Payment data: Credit purchases are processed by Razorpay. We do not store card numbers or payment credentials — only the resulting credit balance and transaction reference.

Usage data: We log API requests, audit runs, and feature interactions for debugging, rate limiting, and improving the product.

2. How we use your data

• To run AI audits and return results to you
• To compute your AI Visibility Score™ and track it over time
• To send audit completion and weekly digest emails (transactional, not marketing)
• To enforce credit balances and rate limits
• To improve the audit engine and scoring methodology

We do not sell your data. We do not use your brand data to train AI models or share it with third parties for marketing.

3. AI platform queries

Running an audit sends your brand name, domain, and industry as part of query prompts to third-party AI APIs: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), Perplexity, and Microsoft (Copilot). BEACON does not store the raw query text or AI responses beyond your audit report. The resulting report (scores, insights, competitor mentions) is stored in your account.

Each AI provider processes these queries under their own privacy and data-use policies. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google offer API-tier data handling agreements that limit training use; Perplexity and Microsoft have their own policies. We recommend reviewing each provider's API data policy if your brand data has specific confidentiality requirements. Links: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google.

What we never do: We do not share your audit results with other BEACON users, we do not sell brand data, and we do not use your audit results to train any AI model.

4. Data storage and security

Audit data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security — your audits are only accessible to your account. We use HTTPS for all connections. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth; we never see or store plaintext passwords.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use session cookies for authentication (managed by Supabase Auth). We also cache audit results in your browser's localStorage as a performance fallback. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

6. Data retention

Audit data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and audit history within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at hello@usebeacon.in. For deletion requests, we will process them within 30 days.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email.
